What is the purpose of this construction project? This is an improvement project to replace and increase the capacity of the existing sanitary sewer line in areas on Calamo Street and Spring Road. There is a second phase of the project that is outside the roadway and in the neighboring woods.
What is the estimated timeframe for completion of this construction project? All construction and repaving is anticipated to be complete by the end of October 2026.
What are the expected construction hours? Construction hours will vary depending on weather, holiday schedules, lane closure hour restrictions, and construction phasing. It should be expected that construction activity will generally occur between 7 am and 5 pm on Monday-Friday. No night work is planned at this time.
What is a continuous detour and how will it help with this project? A continuous detour will be in place continuously for 24 hours a day/7 days a week. The continuous closure will allow us to expedite the project completion.
Will my driveway be repaved? Any paved driveway areas that were disturbed during construction will be repaved when all work is complete.
How will access to my property be maintained during the continuous detour? Residents and emergency services will always have access to their property. We will continue coordinating with property owners to ensure safe and continuous access to their property. Emergency vehicle access has been planned for and we are working with Fairfax County Fire and Rescue, the local Fire Department, and Local/State Police to make sure they can reach your property in the event of an emergency.
Will there be any restrictions on street parking due to construction? Currently there is no street parking and there will not be any street parking allowed in or around the construction area.
